I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE!
Hey there! I’m Facia! I’m a grateful Daughter, passionate Aunt, and founder/creator of the Reading Room.
I believe that we are all designed intentionally in Christ's image, imperfect and messy, for His GLORY.
HIS Word tells us that HE has a purpose for every one of us, and when we seek HIS Kingdom first, HE will make sure we have everything we need to fulfill HIS purpose in us.
That is why I am on a mission to help foster literacy and the JOY of reading for the children of Liberia.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
I was born in Bong Mines, Liberia, but left in 1989 at the age of 13 due to the emerging civil unrest.
Bong Mine is a large iron mine located in central Liberia in Bong County. Bong represents one of the largest iron ore reserves in the world, having estimated reserves of four billion tons of ore grading 36% iron metal.
After being away for almost 30 years, my lovely mother gifted me a trip back home for my 40th Birthday. It was amazing being back in the place of my genesis, but my heart was burdened. Out of that experience, "The Reading Room Resource Center" was born. I saw a need for a free library for the community that would make an impact in the lives of the children in Liberia through early exposure to reading and literacy. The Reading Room Resource Center will foster literacy and the love of reading in children ages 6 to 16.

“It is not enough to simply teach children to read; we have to give them something worth reading. Something that will stretch their imaginations – – something that will help them make sense of their own lives and encourage them to reach out toward people whose lives are quite different from their own.”
—Katherine Patterson
